Home Tour

So I have decided...very soon I will be hosting a mini home tour on my blog.
Since our addition I have been wanting to show all the magical goodness that we added on to this ANCIENT house.
We have ripped apart and redesigned almost EVERY room in this house.  There were some disaster rooms, and some not so bad.
But, this was the first house Jimmy and I bought TOGETHER and it has been amazing turning it into a home.

I will get started immediately!!

This is the first and easiest before picture...

So you see why I fell in love immediately???
I love old houses.

Sorry this picture is crooked...I will take a better one tomorrow. But the main thing you may notice is that there is an entire ADDITION to the house on the right side.  We also switched out ALL the shutters from white to black.
I wasn't sure about my husband's choice of shutter-color until I saw them afterwards.  I can't argue...the boy's got good taste!!!

Ok one more teaser picture...

True or False...this is in our master bath?? :)

TRUE...only now it looks like this...

So this is just a preview of our home tour to come.  Keep up and enjoy!!

It's Derby Time

We are gearing up here at the Karayiannis pad for a Kentucky Derby party. We have hit the party mother load this weekend. Kentucky Derby AND Cinco de Mayo all in one day :) woohoo!!!

We aren't doing anything to crazy. My awesome family is coming down (minus one sister) and we are going to make some delicious food, dress up, and enjoy some mint juleps.

Here is the dress I decided to go with. Each of us in our family will have on seersucker. Look out :)

While I was on the hunt for a new Derby dress these awesome numbers ACCIDENTALLY slipped into my cart. For $20 a pop I couldn't pass them up.

I may have a slight obsession with purple right now. I am excited about it! The dress on the left does have my signature color green.

That's all from me. Ready to get my run on. You should head our and hit the pavement too :)

First game

The kids had their first experience at Busch Stadium yesterday and it was SO much fun. The only thing that could have made it better is if the Cardinals would have won. The weather was surprisingly great. There was a 60% chance of rain and it must have just squeaked past us, thank goodness!!
So here are a few phone pics from our day.

Here is Tyler on the ride up to STL!!

It was determined that Tyler's hat was too small (or his head was too big) and we got a big boy hat when we got to the stadium.

He looked so old with his new hat. I don't know why. But he looked super old when he rocked it backwards while dominating some nachos :)

Ella and daddy are so cute together :)

And jimmy and Tyler look super cute with matching backwards hats.

After this Sunday day game the kids were able to run the bases. They were "speedy fast" according to Ella. She got multiple compliments on her running skills. She MUST have gotten those skills from her momma ;)

And of course the kids did not leave empty handed :) my friend Molly spoiled them with goodies from the Build-a-bear shop in the stadium :) Ella, a matching pink Cardinals bear and Tyler chose a Fredbird. Love her!!!

And here are a few "real pictures"...

A wonderful family shot...with ME taking most of the pictures...we don't get nearly enough of these :)
We took serious advantage of our friends being there
 My "other" husband :)
My friend Molly.  I love her.
 The girls :)
What a cute father/son picture.  Can you say Father's Day??

The game was a huge success!!!!!

I have the itch...

Not the scary burning type of itch...GROSS

But time for a new project itch.  Like I can't wait for my husband to go out of town so I can redecorate itch.  HA HA.  I guess maybe I will just have to settle for when he's at work...which is tonight and tomorrow :) Woo Hoo.   However I am going to attempt to tackle something kind of big...by big I mean time consuming and this is what I'm going after...
I want to recreate this STELLAR pattern on my wall.  It probably won't be too overwhelming since about 3/4 of the wall are covered in tile...so it will just be the tops.  But, we shall see.  The amazing tutorial can be found HERE.  Now to the paint store and to get my supplies right after work...and it's on...like donkey kong.

Tonight's mission...get everything drawn out onto the wall...tomorrow day and night...PAINT!! I really want to use the color palette as seen here below...

This closet makeover is AMAZING.  Check it out HERE.

So I am thinking something in this grey with the above pattern!! Ideas?? Who's with me??

Updates to come :)

WOW...its been a while

So, I have been blog absent...I mean really absent.  Like, since November 6, 2011 absent.  But, I am trying to get back into blogging again.  I truly enjoy it, but have trouble with the balancing act.
Do I workout or blog?...WORKOUT
Do I make a grocery list or blog?...GROCERY LIST
Do I sit with my kids and play or blog about it?...PLAY
Do I blog or catch up on my TV shows?...TV Shows
Do I blog or stalk Pinterest?...PINTEREST
You get the idea.  But the truth is, I want to be better.
Pinterest has truthfully been the death of me.  I am always looking things up, whether they are recipes, ideas for our house, things to do with the kids...you name it.
So here is my returning blog since being absent.  Much has happened since November.  We had our LAST Viefhaus wedding, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentine's Day, Birthday Parties!!  A lot going on.  All have been wonderful and fun.  Here is a quick photo recap of a few events...
Hubby and I at Maggie's rehearsal dinner...

I went dark...REALLY dark with my hair.  I am still adjusting and this picture was taken in December!

Christmas was bittersweet.  The kids were both sick. Snotty and feverish...but they still had a good time.
Santa brought Ella a new bike...which means a helmet for her first ride!!
Tyler joined on his scooter :)

Washing Daddy's new truck...
And these two...yes one being me...are about to turn 30...in exactly ONE week!! WooHoo!!!
30 is not a scary age to me.  In fact my mom says her 30s were her absolute favorite times and I expect the same.  The kids are at such a fun age.  I see family vacations and trips, and new stuff in our future.
I will be back more often.  I have missed all of you!!!
